As time passes, everything changes. The world we live in is in turmoil, we stampede from one crisis to the next, never heeding the grand design,If indeed there is one. Imagine now that nothing changes, the world turns and adapts through time but now. The now we know here and today is the same as it always was, the same as it always will be. Has not the world always suffered from turmoil, are our lives not the same as those who have gone before us. before us
Moonchildren grow weary of all the things that go on around them. Things they cannot see or touch but children of the titans.

The Dark Kind
Will be released on the first of October 2026.
The end is coming, The Dark is approaching the Riverlands, it will soon be here. The Moonchild, the River Sprite, Rob, The Faerie Queene and all of the creatures featured in the "River Tales" will be gathered together once more to try and repel the Dark Kind.
To save the Riverlands from the Dreads, Daemons and Darkness that threaten to engulf and destroy the river, homes, happiness, habitats and nature.
The sprite, nerids, dryads, humans and all the creatures of the river make a last stand against the darkness and we can only hope that few will sucumb to the sickness that the dark bring with them.
The Darkness grows ever closer and with it the stench of wickedness.
Meat is all I smell, faerie meat, faerie wings and feet, Sweet .

Do we really know ourselves or just place a mask over who we truly are? Do we have a dark side? A desire you tell no one of, a strange lingering need. Many have. Most have. What then do you do when you discover it?
From the pen of Raymond Walker, master of the horror story comes this collection of shattering tales.

What we are about
So whats available.
Hi,
My name is Raymond Walker and I am the creator of this website (please ignore all the faults, I will get it right eventually) of Gothic Delights. As you may have guessed from all the stuff above, I am a writer, some of you may have read some of my books or short stories. Others will have read my blog and some my many articles on writing and literature. You will find links to all that stuff and my other websites here and there on these pages but that is not really what this site is about. It is about the "Gothic" ethos wither it be literature and stories, extravagance or stoicism or the look or and idea of it.
Why Scottish Gothic? you may be asking yourself. The answer is pretty simple, firstly I am Scots and so find it easier to write about my home country than Bohemia, Germany and the other centre's of the new renassaince and anyway one of the most important places was Edinburgh, once called the Athens of the North.
So here you will find stories (by a number of Gothic Author's) from the Northlands of this world. Some are my own creations, others by authors I know and indeed, stories from authors I have never met or spoken to but I have read and thought worthy.
Other authors can submit tales directly by e-mailing scottishgothic.com@gmail.com (details are noted on the "get Involved" page)
We will also sell some Scottish Gothic merchandise if I can ever figure out how to do so. We have some cool stuff.

Why read Scottish Gothic.com

The Dead Girl and the Wandering Tree has now sold more than a thousand copies making it my best selling book since Nut Brown Eyes
News

An old book, renewed and well worth a read. Available to buy from the fifteenth of May. I hope that you like it. The true tale of The Pale Shadow.
My publishers have produced a limited edition hardback print of "Under Dark Skies". One hundred were produced. There will be no more and they will be available for purchase Wednesday this week on Amazon. Two weeks before the novel is released in both paperback and digital forms. Collectors editions. I am told. I have received a copy already and they definitely look good.
A limited first edition print.
If you purchase one I wish to thank you in advance.

Not long now until Sad Green Eyes is released. I consider it a fitting sequel to both Nut Brown Eyes and Cold Blue Eyes.

The Pale Shadow
A classic Gothic ghost story with an abominable twist.
Following a road never trodden, an accidental slip on an ancient Scot's cairn releases a shadow, a wraith that once lived and wishes to once more. All it has to do is convince someone to take its place beneath the cairn. There are few to choose from. One will be entombed forever.
"Wonderfully unsettling and Creepy". Marsha Lowndes. Ironbound Magazine.
"Spellbinding" Lucy Hough. Guardian Fiction.
"Creepy, clever and an easy read. Loved it". Lucy Beauchamp. Wondrous Tales.
"A seductive read, insidious. Dark and delicious". Marie lyocell. Lyocell publishing.

"Whilst I love the light, the sun and a blue sea, I see the beauty in a roiling thundrous sky, the grey darkness of the Atlantic and the impending doom of winter. "All bring thier comforts to me".

Under Dark Skies
This land is ancient, steeped in myth and history. Monsters, sleeping, wake. Ghosts stalk the land. Stories, legends, become real and even the warmest of loves can be shattered on the cold rock of Argyll. I woke one day, Under dark Skies, my hand on his belly, his taste on my tongue and knew that I would love him forever but sometimes forever does not last that long.
Under Dark Skies. A monstrously good read. Don’t make any assumptions. Five Stars. Anne Welsh. “The Corbie Times”
Under Dark Skies. Is all I hoped it would be. A great story. Authentic characters and history. Bernard Cornwall. Author. Historian.
Under Dark Skies we live, Under Dark Skies we wake and sleep and Under Dark Skies we die.
